Book Review: The Girl Who Drank the Moon By Kelly Barnhill
Summary:The girl who drank the moon is about a girl who was sacrificed to a witch. They believed the witch would destroy them if they did not sacrifice a baby each year. But inside the dangerous forest, along with a tiny dragon and a friendly swamp monster, the good witch Xan has no idea she's people think she is evil and she does not know why the people leave their babies in the forest every year. She takes the babies and feeds them starlight, the light of the stars in the sky. One year, she accidentally feeds a baby moonlight, which is magical, so she decides to keep the baby and name her Luna.
Review:The Girl Who drank the Moon is a fascinating and exhilarating story. This book was one of my favorite books and I think it definitely deserves it's Newberry Book Award. This book is full of danger, adventure, happiness, and love and it's one of the best stories I've read.
